HOW TO CURL HAIR WITH A HAIR STRAIGHTENER- EASY BEACH WAVES-TUTORIAL WITH VIDEO

I am someone who loves straight hair and though naturally my hair are not too wavy yet for past 6 years I am ironing my hair regularly but one thing is true that even people who are obsessed with straight hair get tired of a specific look, especially if you carry the same look to at a party and a function you don’t seem to have a stand out look.

4 years back I saw Emma Stone with her new look, if you remember correctly she used to have shoulder or a bit longer length hair and mostly straight hair, but once she cut her hair above shoulder length and almost permanently carried this light beach waves look, I got obsessed with learning and achieving that look. So I watched hundreds of YouTube tutorials for beach waves look and tried and failed quite a number of times but now I can comfortably say that I have learnt the art of curling or achieving light waves look.

I have a little above shoulder length hair, I have always loved short hair, it is much easier to straighten short hair than curling them, because you need to twist the machine you use for curling. One thing more if you want very defined curly look than you should always use curling iron with hair spray but if you like light curls or ever light beachy waves look than hair straightener is best because it does not give a defined sharp curly look.

So here is step by step way of how I achieve beach waves for my hair with pictures (and a short video tutorial at the end of article)

Step 1: Lightly straighten all you hair

just to take out any weird roughness

Step 2: 200 degree heat is enough for straightener

Step 3: part hair in sections, I divide my hair in two sections because I have very thin hair, you can make more sections depending upon thickness of your hair

Step 4: take a strand of hair, about one inch wide and run the straightener as shown in the picture below:

Note: don’t hold straightener at one point for too long as it will give you very defined curl, try smoothly but gradually sliding the straightener out of your strand

Step 5: repeat the step4 for all hair

Step 6: run your finger twice or thrice from the curls

Step 7: crunch your hair a few times

And you are ready with your beach waves

NOTE: as I always say nothing can be learnt with out practice, so make sure to practice it at least 10 times before you get disappointed that you can’t achieve this look.

TIP: you can give a light volumizer spray to your hair to get extra volume, I usually skip it.
